Week 5: ATPL Ground School Week 5

Official final teaching week should be this week, but we still have quite an amount of time in our hands, so the syllabus will probably be finished by midweek next week. Next week will also be the final week we have our ground school at this location; the week after next we'll be moving somewhere we still no idea about.

It's quite unsettling, having to adapt to a new environment just weeks before our Tech Phase exam, but it's unforeseen by the school. We just hope it will be somewhere nice and accessible since we'll be spending a lot of time at the school during Navigation Phase.

It has been a relaxed week, but Monday's progress test wasn't good at all, with many of us failing. I actually studied more during the weekend but ended up with pretty rubbish results, failing two out of four tests. It definitely doesn't feel good. Being a pilot means you have to be 100/100, there cannot be any error. This is a wake up call for all of us. The CFI even came over and gave us a short lecture.

Suddenly it dawned upon us that producing such results will cause us to be replaced by others who are more competent than us. I believe none of us will want that to happen. This coming Monday will be our redemption, the final progress test before the mock exam two weeks later.

Hopefully I can write a more cheerful blogpost next weekend.

Even if I'm just one question short of passing for two papers, that's not quite good enough. We have to aim for above 80% just to be safe
